Our 1st Hotel
From where we took the picture, the area looks crappy, but it wasn't. The bathroom floors were heated which I forgot is common in Norway. It was nice because it was very cold when we arrived and the floor was nice and warm. When we got off the train from the airport, we got off at the wrong station and had to walk quite a ways to our hotel. It was nice to sight see on our way but NOT with our luggage!
Opera House
There was a new Opera House built in Oslo and it is amazing. You are able to walk on the roof and all over the building. It was fun but very slippery and acted as a slide..for many. We wanted to see an opera but it was pretty much sold out of course.
Opera House from a distance
Me sitting on the Opera House
From the Opera House we could look out over the fjord. There were a few Ocean Liners coming in and out and it was tempting to jump on one and see where it would go ;0)
Jason standing on the Opera House
After this picture was taken, he "snowboarded" down
Jase & his new friend
Inside the Opera House there were a few statues. This is a funny picture because it looks as if they are conversing.

The "tourist" boat to Bygdoy
I wanted us to go to Bygdoy and see the museums that are there. We took this tourist boat which stopps in different places along the fjord. It was fun but oh SO cold. In this picture, I am drinking 'glugg' which is a Norwegian Christmas drink. You are supposed to put nuts and raisins in it but I forgot and drank it without.
Enjoying the 'Glugg'
He called the drink 'grogg'...LOL
Down in the boat..trying to warm up
Approaching the Fram Museum
The Fram Museum is a Ship
Jason on the Fram..he looks like a sailor with that coat on. The museum honors three polar explorers in particular: Fridtjof Nansen, Otto Sverdrup and Roald Amundsen. The original interior of the ship is intact and it was made into a museum.

I don't really know what that picture was all about...

There was a little restaurant down there that had good sea food. Considering the high food prices in Norway, it wasn't extremely outrageous to eat there.
